The Mother company Swarup was founded in 1972 by Mr. Towfique Imam and officially incorporated as Swarup Private Limited on 20th October 1980.

The Mother company Swarup was transformed into Communications Systems Ltd (CSL) with a primary objective of providing comprehensive 360° solutions, specifically focusing on the telecom industry.

In 1990, CSL was enlisted in Directorate General Defence Purchase (DGDP). The company began with the implementation of Digital PABX technology of OKI Electric company, Japan, and has successfully installed OKI PABX in around 50 different sites. Over time, CSL expanded its offerings by introducing two more brands, NEC and Karel, to its clients

Within the period of 1990 to 2000, Communications Systems Ltd executed a noteworthy project on OKI at multiple locations, notably including 1.the Pan Pacific Sonargoan Hotel with a capacity of 700 lines, 2.BAF PKP Base with a capacity of 250 lines, 3.BAF Zahurul Haque Base with a capacity of 500 lines, 4.BNS ISSA Khan with a capacity of 700 lines, 5.BNS Shahid Moazzem with a capacity of 500 lines, 6.Brac Headoffice with capacity 600 lines, 7.Mohakhali Satellite Earth Station with a capacity of 200 lines, and several other installations.

In 2002, CSL introduced a new PABX brand named Karel, originating from Turkey. Following the introduction of Karel PABX, CSL accomplished successful installations in approximately 60 different sites from 2001 to 2010. Later on, in 2007, CSL further expanded its offerings by introducing another new PABX brand named NEC, which originated from Japan.After introducing the new PABX brands, CSL accomplished the successful completion of three significant projects by 2010.These projects included :
1. PABX systems with a capacity of 2000 lines at the BRAC head office,
2. 2100 lines at the BAF (Bangladesh Air Force) headquarters,
3. And 2200 lines at the Dhaka Metropolitan Police headquarters.

Since the beginning of the 20th century, CSL has primarily focused on working with the Karel and NEC brands. Over time, CSL has successfully installed approximately 250 projects involving these brands. The main projects are Bangladesh Air Forces, Bangladesh NAVY, Rapid Action Battalion(RAB) , Bangladesh Bank, National parlaments, Brack Headoffice etc .
